Wood Wool
Wood wool is produced by planting of the wood blocks from the soft wood without addition of any chemicals. Our wood wool is pure natural product. Final fibres are from 0,1 mm to 0,3 mm thick and from 2 to 15 mm width according to the needs of our costumers. The most often wood wool is used as an auxiliary packing material for fragile goods fixation, e.g. glass, ceramics, china, gardening accessories, musical instruments, wine gift pack…
It can be used underground too, in building industries or in mining for mudding up the seepage or the escape or aerating corridors. There are lots of other applications. In agriculture wood wool is ideal for strawberry growing as mulch or as the bedding for farm animals or for exotic animals in the zoo. We supply special types of wood wool for animal preparation too. Special case of usage can be as the stripes from lime tree, which are used during handmade glass-blow.
For planting, spruce and pine are used. In smaller extend we use birch, alder or lime wood. This product is pure natural and there are no additives. Its liquidation is possible directly in agriculture by composting or by burning.

Wood wool ropes
Ropes are made by rolling the wood wool into different diameters. There are various types of usage e.g. as a protection of goods made from stones or concrete columns, of components with surface treatment or cast steel products. It can be used as a packing of enclosure walls in log houses. Last but not least, it can be used for ecological fire-lighter production.

About us – wood wool and wood wool ropes
Wood wool manufacture in Čestice planes and provides wood wool and wood wool ropes. We carry on the tradition from the beginning of the last century. In the period between world wars, there was a classical saw-mill, wood wool production incl. fine cut and specialized veneer wrappers production which were used for wrapping of cheese, smoked fish etc.
Production was made in operating area and also was handed out to houseworkers. The plant was operated with redounding of own turbine with electric generator. In 1943 there was a vast fire and consequently the production wasn´t restored to ancestral extent because of war years. After the end of the war restoration and modernization was prepared, for example installation of steam engine for burning the wood waste. The energy obtained should have been used for pumping the water in the low flow season or for electricity production eventually.
Nationalization in 1948 put a stop to these plans and the manufacture was filed into the Krkonošské pily, national enterprise. Some of the equipment was dismantled and taken away. Afterwards the saw-mill belonged to the agricultural co-operative. In 50´s the turbine was destroyed after work injury and hydraulic structure wasn´t maintained any longer. Only wood wool was produced afterwards. Early in 90´s the property was returned to the original owners in restitution.
In 1993 we rented this premises from restituents and restored wood wool production. The whole producing equipment was modernized and semi-automatic pressing of wool into the bales was installed. Proportions of the bales are chosen for optimal utilisation of the vehicle loading area. Prior to the press, there is two-stage equipment for the dust removing. At the same time wood wool ropes production was restored and then expanded.

Our workplace is lying on the edge of the small village called Čestice. Čestice is situated on E11 road (Hradec Králové – Ostrava) between Týniště nad Orlicí and Častolovice. Go through Čestice by E11 highway from Hradec Králové direction. 50 m behind the traffic sign end of Čestice turn left and after c. 100 m you will find us. Producing hall can be seen from the road on the left side. It is the last building in the village (from Hradec Králové direction).
